Mobile Studios

The mobile studios represent a traveling art platform, which will visit three towns – Samokov, Radomir and Ihtiman, and it will temporarily use their town environment for artistic interventions. They will include a permanent program by professional actors who will
present contemporary performing and visual arts. Consists of three modules:

Visual Studio

Visual Studio

The Visual Studio will be used for post-production and documentation. The studio
will be placed at the disposal of the actors, performers or curators, who will have the
opportunity to create, recreate, and process the material from the Action Studio. It will be a
starting point for all interventions in the town environment and a tool for communication,
distribution, and a connection between the public and the virtual space.

Ideal Studio

Ideal Studio

The Ideal Studio will be a multifunctional place with utilitarian equipment intended for creative work, discussion, and preparation of performances. It will be a temporary working platform for the local artists, which they would use for presentation of their work in
accordance to the specific requirements of the public space.

Action Studio

Action Studio

The Action Studio will serve as a space for exhibitions and live performances. It will be the module, in which the interdisciplinary artistic approach – archived in various multimedia formats – will be demonstrated. The artists and the curators will be able to turn the studio into their own creative space.

PROGRAM BG08

The project Mobile studios – traveling interdisciplinary platform for contemporary performing and visual arts is being realized with the support of Program BG08 “Cultural Heritage and Contemporary Arts” according to the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area, 2009–2014.

The rich cultural, historical and natural heritage of Bulgaria offers great potential for economic growth, raised employment, and increased social rapprochement. In order to use this potential, investments are needed, through which the process of worsening of the condition of the cultural heritage could be stopped, and a part of it could be revived so that the present and the future generations could use it. Except for investments for preservation of the Bulgarian cultural heritage, there is also an urgent need to increase the extent of participation of the people in art and culture; the support needs to be directed to measures, which will provide the people with more access to Bulgarian art, culture and heritage – both physical and digital.
